Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity

To achieve an environment which is positive, engaging and beneficial for everyone, we believe that it is essential that our curriculum and community are inclusive and reflective of the diversity in which we operate.

We recognise that we need to be a 老司机视频 that celebrates diversity and ensures that all of our students, staff and stakeholders feel that they are a member of an inclusive community where individuals can be proud of their own identity and work in an atmosphere of mutual respect.

We also believe that the 老司机视频 should have a positive impact on our local and regional communities.

Awards and Initiatives

The 老司机视频 works with the 老司机视频 Students' Union (UCSU) to advance its equality, diversity and inclusion aims through awareness raising activities, communications and events.

We also have a number of related awards and initiatives in place to support our work, including:

  • Registered as an organisation with Dementia Friends, an Alzheimer's Society initiative.
  • Disability Confident Employer status under the Government scheme awarded for our work to successfully employ, retain and develop disabled people.
  • The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance鈥檚 (IHRA) Working Definition of Antisemitism has been adopted by the 老司机视频. For clarification, we share the view that it is not anti-Semitic to hold the Israeli Government to the same standards as other liberal democracies or to take a particular interest in the Israeli Government鈥檚 policies or actions, without additional evidence to suggest anti-Semitic intent.
  • Signatory to the Mindful Employers 鈥楥harter for Employers who are Positive 老司机视频 Mental Health鈥 to promote wellbeing and to uphold a non-stigmatising culture around mental health.
  • We are an institutional partner of the Women鈥檚 Higher Education Network (WHEN), which aims to support and connect women across the higher education sector. Being a partner institution allows free WHEN membership to our staff, enabling them to access events, join their social network and take part in their mentorship programme.
  • A聽wide range of related professional development opportunities for staff through our Professional Development Programme including sessions around unconscious bias, race awareness, mental health, trans awareness and sensory impairments.
