{"id":2806,"date":"2021-08-31T16:51:04","date_gmt":"2021-08-31T15:51:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.chi.ac.uk\/?page_id=2806"},"modified":"2023-05-23T09:50:55","modified_gmt":"2023-05-23T08:50:55","slug":"business-hothouse","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.chi.ac.uk\/collaborate\/business-and-employers\/business-hothouse\/","title":{"rendered":"Business Hothouse"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1>\n\t\tBusiness Hothouse\n\t<\/h1>\n    <p>The Business Hothouse was a \u00a310.9million business support programme run by the 老司机视频 Business School.<\/p>\n<p>It ran from January 2020 through to April 2023 and was funded by the ERDF and by district councils within the coast-to-capital area.<\/p>\n<p>It provided both business knowledge support and business grant funding to businesses located within that area.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chi.ac.uk\/app\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Business-Hothouse-logo.jpg\" alt=\"Business HotHouse logo\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"229\" width=\"400\" title=\"Business Hothouse Logo\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chi.ac.uk\/app\/uploads\/2021\/12\/HM-Gov-and-EU-logos.png\" alt=\"Logos: HM Government and EU Development Fund\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"436\" width=\"2362\" title=\"HM Gov And EU Logos\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\t<div class=\"sidebar-menu-wrapper\"><\/div>\n    <p>The Business Hothouse programme was delivered by the 老司机视频 Business School and its free support was available to any sole trader, business owner, freelancer or pre-start entrepreneur in the coast-to-capital area.<\/p>\n    <p>The Business Hothouse programme was launched with the aim of creating:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Increased entrepreneurship particularly:\n<ul>\n<li>Amongst under-represented groups<\/li>\n<li>Within areas with low levels of enterprise activity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>An increased growth capacity in SMEs<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The programme was highly successful and amongst its many achievements it delivered:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support to 625 enterprises<\/li>\n<li>Awarded Invest4 business grants &#8211; totalling \u00a32.65million &#8211; to 168 enterprises<\/li>\n<li>58 new jobs<\/li>\n<li>Business knowledge support to 496 pre-start entrepreneurs, enabling them to become enterprise-ready<\/li>\n<li>Assisted 64 enterprises to bring introduce new-to-firm products<\/li>\n<li>Diagnostics and brokerage support to 97 enterprises.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can view the final summative assessment report, which provides full details of the programme&#8217;s outputs, in the documents below.<\/p>\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chi.ac.uk\/app\/uploads\/2023\/05\/The-Business-Hothouse-Report.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\n        Business Hothouse Summative Assessment Report [PDF]\n    <\/a>\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chi.ac.uk\/app\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Business-Hothouse-Summative-Assessment-report-VF1.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\n        Business Hothouse Summative Assessment Report [Word]\n    <\/a>\n    <p><strong>District and County Councils continue to offer free business support to businesses and entrepreneurs who are located within their respective areas.
